Mates served as an apprentice to the Ship’s Master, Boatswain, Gunner and took care of the fitting out of the vessel and examined whether it was sufficiently provided with ropes, pulleys, sails, and all other riggings that was necessary for the voyage.
Hullo. I’m Fowl, and it’s a pleasure to meet you. You want to know something about me? I don’t know, you might rat out on me. You promise you won’t? Alright, then. Here we go.
I’m a girl, firstly, and was named 'Wendy' at birth. Yes, I'm a girl that wears boy's clothes. You've got a problem with that? I hate being a girl, of course. All you have to do is sit at home and take care of the house and give birth to babies, and take care of them. It’s tiring, really! When I was still with me Mum and Dad, I hated it. We weren’t very rich, you see, and lived in a dirty place with many pigs running about. I had five younger siblings- four sisters, and one brother. I truly despised Mother, because she never let me do anything. Anything, I tell you! I just had to sit at home and scrub the vessels while the boys from our neighborhood went out to play. Oh, let me tell you, I was much better at running and boxing than the whole lot of them. They were so annoying and pesky. And the girls…! Oh my god, they only cared about their precious hair and the Duke’s son. The Duke’s son is mighty ugly too, let me tell you that. He’s got so much hair on his face! I loved Papa though, and probably would only miss him. He loved me a lot you know? However, his love couldn’t compensate for the love of others, and I ran away when I was thirteen.
I had always loved pirates. Don’t tell anyone that. Even as a kid, when raids took place in the village, I still loved them. I even remember handing over a sword to a tall pirate with dreadlocks in his hair. He was so handsome, much better than that silly Duke’s son. However, not too many girls were pirates, and that was so bloody infuriating. What did I do, then? I chopped off my long brown hair with a pair of scissors, looking very much like a page, and stole the Messenger boy’s clothes when he took a bath. Soon enough, pirates invaded the village, and I crawled into their ship. I was living quite peaceful, oblivious to the pirates for a couple of days, when the gunner found me hiding in the ship! Oh, I was terrified. Firstly, I didn’t even understand their lingo, so half his words sounded Greek to me. He knew I was a girl, and that was so disappointing. Of course, he didn't let me carry on with the disguise, but I forced him to let me keep the clothes. He was a nice man though, the Gunner was, and made me his I was his mate, whatever that meant. I’ve spent a month on board, and I truly am loving it, living like a pirate. The Captain scares me though, but I didn’t tell you that. [He's so handsome, though.]
My personality? Why, of course, didn’t you figure that out already? I hate being a girl, and am mystified by the lives of men. I love fighting with the other Mates, because I love winning against a boy. Of course, they hate it that they're losing to a girl! I love the Gunner dearly, and he’s the only one on board who I could call family. He’s like Papa, just with a gruffer voice and bigger shoulders. People say I tend to get angry for no reason, and that’s really mean of them. I don’t, alright? People just don’t understand me, and they think I’m all “innocent” because I’m fourteen and because my pirate lingo is mediocre. Oh well.
Did I tell you about my owl? Oh, he's such a darling. We were on Tortuga, when I hear something chirping, and there's a baby owl, all by himself. I pleaded with the Captain to let me keep the owl. Of course, he let me keep it. The Captain's a really nice man. [AND HANDSOME!] Scary, but nice. The owl's called Zorro. Want to play with him? He's sleeping now, sadly.
Oh, he's awake!
Oh oh oh. Did I tell you about that really cute person on board? It’s really sad, because he regards me as his ‘little sister’. Oh, I’ll deck up in those flimsy ball gowns and show him!
He’s so cute. Let me take you to meet him! You already know who I'm talking about, don't you?

I’m Wednesday, and very much a girl, thank you. I’m fourteen, and I’m not an experienced roleplayer, but I’m good, I promise you! And EDITED.
