A privateer is a private person or ship authorized by a government by letters of marque to attack foreign shipping during wartime. They also catch pirates for money and spy on the navies of other countries. They are loyal to the royalty. Commonly known as a rich man's pirate.
I would like to start off with my beautiful beginning, seeing as it is one of the most gorgeous event ever to occur on this earth. I was born whilst sailing with my mother and father on a royal navy ship. She was a carefree and independent woman, and she refused to be left home. And so I was born under the deck, which while unconventional, it was my claim to fame. My destiny.
My father was a captain in the imperial Navy, and not long after my birth he dropped my mother and I off at a port in Australia of all places. Now, I am aware that Australia is a place for prisoners, but fear not, our lord provided and my life in the rough aborignian territories made me the strong and ruggedlyhandsomeadventurous man I am today.
My father stayed out there, on the see, while I grew up in Australia with my mother. We sent letters quite often, until he was killed by some pirates who he got robbed by. He preferred to give up his life than have his king's ship lost. From that day on I knew my destiny.
A privateer's life for me.
Once I had discovered this I knew what was necessary to be it. I began to train, sailing every day of the coasts and learning the manners my mother had learned from the courts. I worked under many other's ships, first as a cabin boy before working by way up to captains assistant. I did things the right way, through hard work and determination. I was an honorable man, one who earned the respect of my peers.
My mother came on my first assistant captained ship, which was the first ship I had ever had a real problem on. The problem was the mermaids.
Mermaids, gorgeous specimen of them. A whole flock of them and the most pretty I had ever seen. We were captivated. So captivated that we forgot about the ship. People started jumping ship, and my mother was trying to hold back the captain. In his trance, and was desperate to do anything to get to them. Even stab her with his sword.
I always thought they were disgusting.
For controlling a wild ship, I was made captain of one of my own ships. I was a privateer. Finally. I've proved my honor to the Beauregard name since. Lovely name that it is, though I am the only one left. I plan on avenging both my mother and father's death.
